Abstract – The diurnal raptors of the natural reserve “Parco Regionale Alto Garda Bresciano”. The article illustrates the results of a ten-year field research (1990-1999) about the distribution of the raptors breeding in the Parco Regionale dell’Alto Garda, a natural reserve located in Lombardy, in the North of Italy. Nine breeding species were found (Accipiter gentilis, Accipiter nisus, Aquila chrysaetos, Buteo buteo, Circaetus gallicus, Falco peregrinus, Falco tinnunculus, Milvus migrans, Pernis apivorus). The Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) and the Short-toed Eagle (Circaetus gallicus) are the two species of the highest natural relevance, given the number of breeding pairs present in the area. A point of interest is the presence of the Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) in such an unusual habitat as the low pre-alpine mountains, as well as the presence of the uncommon Goshawk Accipiter gentilis. The final chapter gives a list of and comments on the other 12 species of diurnal raptors sighted as migrants and/or wintering in the territory of the Park up to the year 1999 inclusive.
