MARCATO AUMENTO DELLA POPOLAZIONE NIDIFICANTE DI ALLOCCO, STRYX ALUCO, IN PROVINCIA DI MANTOVA (LOMBARDIA, ITALIA SETTENTRIONALE)

Riassunto – Viene analizzata e descritta la distribuzione e la consistenza della popolazione di Allocco, Strix aluco, nidificante in Provincia di Mantova nel periodo 2000-2016. L’indagine ha appurato un maggior numero di siti occupati rispetto ai decenni precedenti quando la specie nel periodo 1983-1987 era presente in 9 località. Nel periodo 2000-2010 la specie è risultata presente in 29 siti con un aumento del 222% mentre nel periodo 2011-2016 in 42 siti, con un aumento del 44% rispetto alla fase di studio 2000-2010.

Abstract–Marked increase of nesting of Tawny Owl, Stryx aluco, in the Province of Mantua (Lombardy, Northern Italy). The distribution and size of the population of Tawny Owl, Stryx aluco, nesting in the Province of Mantua, are analyzed and described over the period 2000-2016. The survey found a larger number of occupied sites than in previous decades when the species, from 1983 to 1987, was present in 9 locations. In the period 2000-2010, the species was present in 29 sites, with an increase of 222%, compared to the 1983-1987 period, while in the period from 2011 to 2016 the species occurred in 42 sites, with an increase of 44% compared to the data collected from 2000 to 2010.
