PROBLEMA PER LE ACQUE DEI LAGHI D’ISEO E DI GARDA

Riassunto – Il carico dei nutrienti algali e soprattutto del fosforo, che giunge ai laghi di Garda e d’Iseo dal loro bacino imbrifero, compromette l’uso delle loro acque a causa dell’aumento della densità delle alghe fitoplanctoniche. Tale densità è stata misurata in acque destinate, dopo potabilizzazione, a scopo idropotabile, prelevate nei pressi di Monte Isola, a 40 m di profondità, per il lago d’Iseo e nel golfo di Desenzano a 35 e 45 m, per il lago di Garda. La densità del fitoplancton è risultata per più del 70% attribuibile a cianobatteri, potenzialmente produttori di biotossine pericolose per la salute umana. Per arrestare la tendenza al peggioramento della qualità delle acque dei due laghi è necessario invertire, al più presto, la tendenza con la corretta gestione del territorio e in modo particolare dei reflui che pervengono a lago.

Abstract – The load of algal nutrients, and especially phosphorus, reaching the lakes Iseo and Garda from their catchmentbasins compromises the use of their waters for potable purposes, because of the increase in the density of phytoplanctonic algae. This density was measured in waters destined to disinfection treatment, sampled near Monte Isola, at 40 m of depth, for lake Iseo, and in the gulf of Desenzano at 35 and 45 m, for lake Garda. Phytoplanctonic density was attributable for more than 70% to cyanobacteria, potential producers of biotoxins dangerous for human health. In order to stop the trend towards deterioration of the water quality in the two lakes it is necessary to reverse the trend as soon as possible with a correct management of the territory and in particular of waste waters entering the lakes.
